The challenge
Skamlingsbanken, a hill in southern Jutland peninsula in Denmark, was vital to Danish culture in the 19th century.
Kolding municipality tasked our team at Yoke (Copenhagen) with crafting a comprehensive visitor center experience. Our scope included designing its visual identity, exhibition components, interactive features, animations, and prints. Our mission: to build a visual narrative that bridged the historical and geographic aspects of Skamlingsbanken.
Inside the visitor center
The exhibition offers a deep dive into the historical significance of Skamlingsbanken. It showcases how natural forces shaped the landscape into the hill it is today, and how human efforts preserved Danish language and culture against German influence in that area.
During my tenure at Yoke Copenhagen in 2019, I contributed to shaping the museum's visual identity. The visitor center itself, designed by CEBRA architects, welcomed its first guests in 2021.
The union between nature and language
Our symbol, combining handwriting, sound waves, and earth transformation, serves as the core element. This symbol guides visitors through the entire experience, symbolizing the fusion of nature's forces and the power of speech.
My role in the project spanned from conceptualizing the brand (logo, typography, graphic elements) to crafting the corporate manual and editorial specimens.
